TAPSE Z-Score
Tricuspid annular plane systolic excursion with age-dependent z-score for RV systolic function assessment
TAPSE (tricuspid annular plane systolic excitation) measured on echocardiography quantifies right ventricular systolic function, with Z-scores adjusted for age and body surface area in pediatric patients. Reduced TAPSE indicates right ventricular systolic dysfunction, guiding assessment of pulmonary hypertension severity and response to therapy. Use this tool when analyzing echocardiographic studies in children to quantify RV function and assess for pulmonary hypertension or RV dysfunction.
