The Pediátrico Early Warning System (PEWS) utiliza a combination of behavioral, respiratory, and hemodynamic parameters to identify hospitalized niños at riesgo of clinical deterioration requiring higher level of care or ICU admission. Validado in niños ages 2-18 years, this scoring system helps bedside nurses and clinicians standardize assessment of stability and trigger escalation of care before adverse events occur. Use this tool as part of rapid response team protocols on pediátrico inpatient units to identify deteriorating patients and facilitate timely interventions.
